Our Mission
Our mission is to empower girls and young women to become compassionate leaders and agents of change in their communities. Through mentorship, leadership development, and action-planning, youth — with a focus on underrepresented girls and young women — are equipped with the skills, confidence, and resources to address social justice and community issues.
The Girls Talk Back program creates a supportive environment where participants design and implement projects that reflect their voices and vision, creating a foundation for lifelong impact and community engagement.

Our Vision
Our vision is to create a world where every girl and young woman has the skills, confidence, and support to address social justice and community issues, collaborate on meaningful projects, and become lifelong agents of change and leaders.
Our History and Meet the Team
Girls Talk Back, the leadership program for girls 14-18 years old, sponsored by AAUW Honolulu Branch and Women’s Fund of HawaiÊ»i, with operational support from Ceeds of Peace, has completed 7 Cohorts since its inception in the summer of 2019. In December 2024, we launched Girls Talk Back as its own 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to grow the program.
We believe in the power of every girl and young woman to embrace who they are, define their future, and positively impact the world.
